Design brief: To design a sculptural table lamp inspired by the interplay of industrial precision and organic flow.

Rising from a gear-like base, its spiraling light structure embodies the journey of an idea, from grounded concept to illuminating vision. Whether placed on a desk, pedestal, or corner nook, Spira transforms spaces and minds.
Designing
The journey of Spira began with freehand sketching—exploring how motion, light, and structure could merge into a single form. Inspired by spirals in nature and the mechanical beauty of gears, early ideas focused on balance: soft curves rising from rigid geometry. Several iterations were drawn to find the right visual rhythm, followed by rough 3D models to test proportions, light direction, and base stability.
Process: After exploring initial concept sketches, the most dynamic form was refined into a final design. A detailed 3D CAD model was then developed to capture the geometry, followed by realistic rendering to visualize materiality, light flow, and presence.

The base is crafted from durable ABS in a rich brown tone, shaped like a gear to represent strength and grounded creativity.
The spiral is 3D printed in translucent PLA with a 0.4mm wall thickness, allowing soft, diffused light to glow through its elegant upward curve with an LED strip inside.
